What We Do

Five things, all of them tree work

This is a tree service and nothing else. If you also need mowing, mulching, leaf removal, gutters, junk removal, pressure washing, or snow plowing, that is the same owner under Hole in 1 Lawn Care and Landscaping and the same phone number.

Tree Removal

Whole trees taken down, including tight-quarters removals close to houses, fences, and power lines. Sections are rigged and roped down in a controlled way, and the material leaves with us.

What tree removal involves

Tree Trimming

Canopies thinned and reduced, limbs cleared off roofs, gutters, driveways, and power lines, dead and hanging limbs taken out, low branches raised.

What tree trimming involves

Brush Removal

Overgrown brush, fence lines, and tree lines cleared, fallen limbs picked up, brush piles hauled away, and grown-in property edges opened back up.

What brush removal involves

Stump Removal

Stumps ground down below grade, grindings cleaned up, and the spot backfilled so it can be seeded or mulched.

What stump removal involves

Storm Cleanup

Fallen and hung-up trees, split trunks, limbs on roofs and vehicles, and blocked driveways. Our hours are 24 hours, so storm work does not have to wait for the morning.

On the Job

A controlled takedown, on video

This is one of our jobs, not a stock clip. The tree is roped with a pull line, cut, and brought down clear of the house behind it, into the open part of the yard where the brush is already stacked.

The clip runs about fifteen seconds and has no sound. A tall tree stands with a yellow pull rope running from high on the trunk down to the ground. The rope goes taut, the trunk begins to move, and the tree falls away from the brick house and lands in the open yard beside the brush pile.

Silent, 15 seconds. It only downloads when you press play.

What to Expect

How a job goes

Every tree is a different problem, but the order of operations does not change much. Here is what happens between the first call and the truck pulling away.

1

Look at the tree and the drop zone

We walk the job first: the lean, the deadwood, what is under the tree, and where sections can come down without hitting anything.

2

Agree on the scope and the estimate

You get a clear estimate for the work we discussed, including what is being hauled away, before anything is cut.

3

Take it down in a controlled way

Felled whole where there is room, climbed and roped down in pieces where there is not, working clear of the house, the fence, and the lines.

4

Haul off and clean up

Wood and brush leave with us and the work area gets raked out, so the job is actually finished when we pull away.

Tight yards are the normal case here

Most of the trees we take down are not in an open field. They are behind a fence, over a patio, beside a garage, or close enough to the house that nothing can simply be dropped. That is why the work is done from the tree as often as from the ground, with sections roped and lowered instead of let go.

Access matters as much as the tree does. Tell us whether a truck can get to the back yard, how wide the gate is, and what is under the canopy, and the estimate will be a lot closer to the real thing.
